Overview of the role:

As Scientific Process Services Manager, you lead a team of 2 engineers/chemists/data specialists responsible for designing and conducting all process & scale up efforts for manufacturing readiness of all new product launches as well as cost saving projects for our current portfolio in EU. In addition, you are responsible for providing technical support to the production teams and Supply Chain in maintaining production of our current product portfolio across EU within and outside our manufacturing network. In this role, you are the first contact person for technical queries on our product portfolio from all internal and external customers including Consumer Response team, Sales, Marketing and Supply chain and are responsible for providing training on the science behind our product portfolio. Finally, you manage the process flow for the creation and maintenance of various product lifecycle systems and databases (excluding master data).

Examples of your day to day responsibilities include: Coordinate transition and scale up activities for new products from the lab to production by organizing line trials and initiating the required manufacturing processes; proactively identify and implement process optimization opportunities based on production and quality input; maintain product quality and set intermediate product specifications for new products. You play a crucial part in the GMP status of our factory, therefore you coordinate long term-stability processes of our products to ensure the right checks and balances are performed to deliver high quality products to the market.

In this role, you will work closely with multiple Supply Chain functions including Quality, Procurement, Filling, Blending etc., … as well as your close partners in R&D, Marketing and Sales to ensure high quality products are introduced to the market and to ensure continuous improvement of our product quality and production processes.

Responsibilities:

· Ensure continued professional and technical development of direct reports while nourishing a culture of agility, flexibility, inclusion, accountability and collaboration across Scientific Services and other functions in R&D

· Ensure on-time delivery of the product development commitments across brands for EU through internal as well as external partnership, communicating progress with the project teams, bringing forward possibilities and a solutions mindset, and collaborating with Quality, Manufacturing and R&D teams to scale up new formulations on time and on quality

· Qualify alternate raw materials/suppliers for formula ingredients to ensure supply chain resiliency

· Identify opportunities for continuous process improvements for product development and scale up

· Manage technical aspects of product implementation and post- launch product care

· Manage lab work of the scientific services department (pre-trial production testing, long-term stability screenings, etc. )

· Coordinate and support the business through training on the science behind our products and problem solving

· Support the implementation of new quality test methods.

· Build strong and timely communication lines with stakeholders across the organization

· First point of contact for technical inquiries about our current product portfolio

Experience you’ll bring:

· Minimum 10 years experience in R&D, Manufacturing or Quality

· Minimum of 2+ years experience in people management/leadership

· Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related fields

· Knowledge of SAP or ERP systems

· Knowledge of GMP and GLP practices

· Proficient in working with Excel, Word, PPT, Outlook and SharePoint

· Affinity with R&D, quality, supply chain and packaging

· Strong communication skills

· Fluent in Dutch & English
